The Last Story #DST

Hi my dear friends, this is the last blog also the last work where i would like to share with you all a guide of my hometown.

This course has absolutely changed something in me and has also given me things that I will carry within my entire life.

I had the opportunity to meet new people and grow both personally and professionally
I thank you all and above all our professor Dr. Alexios Brailas  who made this experience even more beautiful

I hope you like my video.

A special lesson #DST

The lessons are about to end, the blogs are about to end and also this Erasmus experience, where I learned many things and many people that I will always carry inside.

The last lesson was different because we had to take 5 photos of the university and express our feelings about them, I never thought about it because Panteion university was just a place where I spend 8 hours a week but looking at these photos, I understood that are not just empty images, but they have a deep meaning for me.

I would like to share with you this Padlet where I have chosen 5 photos under each one, I wrote a sentence, the first sentence that came to my mind.

I hope you enjoy it 🙂

An experimental lesson #DST

Yesterday’s lesson was interesting, more experimental than anything else. I had no idea you could use PowerPoint to create a video, although I’ve pretty much always used PowerPoint for class presentations, but this feature escaped me, so it was nice to know something new.

Each of us had to choose a photo from the site provided by the professor and write a few lines to explain what you felt for that photo but unfortunately experimenting with the video we were not able to do it.

I was sorry that the group is always getting smaller, it was very nice when we were so many to share our thoughts and emotions, I hope next time it will be different. But in any case I would like to share the photo I chose during the lesson and that I wanted to share with everyone.

This is my home #DST

I come from 2 very different places, two different continents.  I was born and raised up to 16 years in North Africa Morocco which I consider home because my roots are there and also my family, but it is also true that I consider Italy home because I spent 10 years there the best time in my life it is a place that has offered me various opportunities at the level of education and Work. Unfortunately, it is something hard to get in Morocco. But it is also true that being an emigrant it’s not that easy it has a negative side: adapting and being accepted by others.

I love that I come from two wonderful countries, which have fascinating cultures, histories, and traditions.

I am proud to be Moroccan by origin, and I like to pass on and make known my tradition and my culture in Italy to many people who do not know it well I can say that i have succeeded, in fact many people I know have gone to visit my country following my advice.

I would like to invite everyone who is reading this post to visit these 2 countries because it is really worth it.

Our last meeting #DST

last week’s meeting was different from the others, it was “therapeutic”.
it has never been easy for me to share my feelings with others, but with the girls in the group during the lesson it was different, because we didn’t have to judge or give our opinion on what the other person was saying, we just had to listen.

Sometimes we don’t realize all the positive changes we make in our lives, but saying aloud the things I have changed in my life to other people, made me realize how strong I am and that I am capable of achieving all my goals without problems.

Life is too short to miss out on being truly happy. So focus on that and leave behind your back all bad things that happened.

We also drew our feelings, what we were feeling in that moment, and it was nice (not my drawing of course ahahah) to express ourselves without using words.

First Day In Athens #DST

She is my neighbor, she loves to play and she is too kind.
I took this picture when I first went to university to assure my mother that I was safe and everything was okay.
Actually, I don’t like taking cappuccino outside of Italy, because I had bad experiences before. but this was really good.
I don’t know what I should write except it was relaxing to be there alone with my favorite music.

Why should we tell a story? #DST

Before people learned to write, they told each other stories. Telling a story is like painting a picture with words. Stories connect, inspire, guide, create change and heal. in fact, storytelling has allowed people to make sense of the world and draw deeper meaning from their lives since the beginning of human history. Of course, the techniques and methods of storytelling change, as well as the ways of communicating and the characters within each story.

“It’s like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. All the time. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story.”

Patrick Rothfuss

since I am a person who is always afraid of being judged and not too sociable I believe that telling a story can be a method to speak freely without being afraid of being judged by people or anything else, because only you can decide if your story is true or just a fantasy. In your story, you can be the main character, the hero, or just the narrator but the most important thing is knowing how to involve the listener in your story. In any case, each story is special and can convey many things that can serve others in life.

The First Meeting #DST

After 15 minutes inside the building looking for the classroom, i finally managed to attend the first meeting of the course Digital storytelling. The lesson was an introduction to what we will experience and what we expect to learn during this course and what digital storytelling is and how it affects our lives. But also, it was a pleasant and welcoming conversation between us and the professor to know each other better.

I was even more pleasantly surprised at how this course allows students to reflect and express their thoughts by writing small anonymous stories without barriers or prejudices. And as the professor also said at the end of the lesson, “do not be afraid to make a mistake in English, because you have to make mistakes to learn”.

I am excited to learn more about this subject and to give my best because it is very interesting and intriguing. Can’t wait for next Thursday.
